Sara M. King

She was born on May 6, 1944, the youngest child of the late Abner and Mildred Tharp. She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Waynesburg. On November 2, 1963 Sara married the love of her life, Orville "Sonny" King. The couple spent 62 beautiful years together raising their two sons and taking care of their homestead. You could always find her sitting on the porch, enjoying a cup of coffee or spoiling her granddaughters with an ice cream cone before dinner.

Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Orville King; sons, Steve (Jennifer) and Dave (Robin) King; grandchildren, Craig (Sierra) Johnson, Lindsay (Craig) Nelson, and Noah King; step-grandchildren, Rachel Karpency and Katlyn Moore; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Blakeley, Reed, Hadley, and Lillian; step-great-grandchild, Bo Karpency; sister, Martha Grimm; sister-in-laws, Bonnie Bedilion and Carol Tharp; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jean Carrol, and Elizabeth, Harold, Ralph, Bob, and Raymond Tharp.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 18 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Behm Funeral Home, 182 W. HIgh St., Waynesburg, PA 15370, where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 19 at 11 AM, with Pastors Greg Voss and Reverend Nick Bardo officiating. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the nurses of Concordia Hospice for their compassionate care. Sara was lovingly cared for at home by her granddaughter and best friend, Lindsay.
