Albert Alexander Holguin, age 83, of Seabrook, TX, died on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at home, with his wife at his side, along with other family. He was born in Shafter, TX, to Carlos and Sophie Holguin on February 23, 1935. He was married to Shirley for 38 years. Albert was married to Judy Brewster of Aransas Pass for nine years prior to his marriage to Shirley. Albert's primary and secondary education was in Catholic schools in San Antonio. He attended the University of Texas in Austin and graduated from Southwest Texas University in San Marcos aka Texas State University. Albert was a former City Manager for many years in Aransas Pass, and thereafter, Seabrook and Webster. He continued his illustrious career and coming full circle by working with the Dept. of Labor; and thereafter, Harris County. Albert was also a member of Rotary for many years and served in the US Army. He enjoyed working in the yard, playing poker, wrestling in his younger years, dancing and family gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Louis Holguin; sister Martha Holguin and step-daughter Amy Katherine Hubbell. Albert is survived by his wife Shirley; daughter Stephanie Holguin; sons Aaron and Eric Holguin; grandchildren John Michael Hernandez and Kendra Holguin; sisters Hortensia McConnell, Lucille Polan, and Jody Bartoli; brothers Peter and Omar Holguin; along with many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX, 77598, with Pastor Rob Purdy officiating.
