I loved him dearly.  I miss him every day.

Hello Mrs. Addis.  My sister, Diana, came across this today.  I'm sorry to hear of your husband's passing.  My father tried to get in touch with him shortly before he died several years ago, but we didn't have a good phone number.  I guess they're are having long conversations now. :-)

Your dad was so generous with the "fruit of his labor", bringing us vegetables from his garden. My kids grew up knowing him as the local "gardener". When I was home alone with my kids, I felt safe knowing Mr. Addis was nearby. He went above and beyond kindness when he made me several cassette tapes of his favorite gospel music groups. He wrote down the names of each song and performer and explained to me why he liked them. We'll miss that sweet neighbor. He showed us what love, faithfulness, and commitment are all about by the way he spent time with his wife in the last years.  Our prayers are with you.

Dear Kay, I was very sorry to read in the Houston Chronicle today of the passing on of my old friend and shipmate from USS Horace A. Bass (APD-124) during World War II. If it is convenient please give me a call at 713-782-6624. I have been sending you Christmas cards several years now since I last saw you both in Texas City. With sympathy, Carter B. Conlin
