Alma Lou Higgins

Alma Lou Higgins, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born on April 7, 1939 in Wilson County, Texas to Coleman and Edna Stadler. Lou was a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.

Alma Lou, or Lou for short, graduated from Burbank High School. She married James (JT) in 1958. They started a family in 1959 and shared 18 years together. Lou began working for NASA at BRSP in 1975. She worked various positions including the Bond Room for the Space Shuttle. She retired in 2001 with 26 years of service.

Lou’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandsons, Ross and Reid. She enjoyed reading, painting, doing word finds and crossword puzzles. She faithfully watched and cheered for all the Houston Sports Teams. After retirement, Lou and her best friend, Debbie loved traveling and going on many adventures.

Lou is preceded in death by her husband James (JT) Higgins; her mother Edna Stadler and her father Coleman (Jack) Stadler.

Lou is survived by her son, Jeff Higgins and wife Diane; daughter Cindy Higgins; grandson Ross Higgins, grandson Reid Higgins, and wife Lauren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, Texas. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am, with a graveside service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
