Anita Frances Macadam, aged 80, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, June 22, 2017. She passed away at her home in League City, Texas, in the company of her family. Anita was born on July 4, 1936, in Covington, KY, the daughter of L. Daniel and Ruby (Frances) Ziegler. She lived a life of constant, consistent service and committed, faithful love - to her community through her career in nursing, and to her family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She graduated with a Master’s degree from Miami University in Oxford, OH, and served as a school nurse in Middletown, OH, for over twenty years. Anita also served as a Red Cross Volunteer and a part-time R.N. at the Middletown Hospital. On August 31, 1957, she married her husband of almost sixty years, John Neely Macadam. Together they raised four children. Anita was a devout Christian and served as both deacon and elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Middletown.
Anita loved to travel with her husband, John, especially to visit her children, grandchildren, and countless friends. She took special pleasure in knowing others deeply and was always taking time to catch up with old friends, play a game with her grandchildren, and spread mirth with her irresistible laugh. Her lively and selfless spirit is survived by her husband, John Macadam; her children David (Jeannie) Macadam, Stephen (Marie) Macadam, Anne (Joseph) Bradley, and Joan (Kenneth) Karbo; her 14 grandchildren; and her 2 great-grandchildren. She is always loved and will be deeply missed. May her memory be eternal.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Clear Lake Presbyterian Church in Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
1 Corinthians 15:54 “When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: ‘Death is swallowed up in victory.’”
