Ann Marie Givens Carrillo, 71, was born on July 1, 1955, in Bogalusa, Louisiana, to Walker McMath Givens and Dorothy Givens, and passed away on July 13, 2026. A proud daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother, Ann built a life defined by quiet care for others and the steady dedication of a woman who believed in showing up, doing the work, and doing it well.
Ann pursued her calling with purpose, earning a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy at Northeast Louisiana University, now University of Louisiana at Monroe. She went on to spend many years as an Occupational Therapist in healthcare for Houston Methodist, offering the kind of attentive support that made people feel seen and capable—bringing patience, skill, and a thoughtful steadiness to each day and each person she served.
Outside of work, Ann found joy in the things that made a home feel warm and lived-in: time in the garden, the comfort of puzzles and reading, and cheering on her Houston teams—the Astros and the Texans—with the same loyalty and enthusiasm that she brought to the people she loved.
Ann was preceded in death by her spouse, Margarito (Mike) Carrillo, Jr. who passed in 2008 and her parents.
She is survived by her daughter Victoria (Tori) Carrillo; stepson Michael Carrillo and stepdaughter Carol Ramos; and, 3 grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Jimmy McMath Givens and Robert (Bobby) Walker Givens.
Those who loved Ann will remember the strength in her constancy, the care in her attention, and the way her hard work was never about recognition—only about making life better for the people in it. Her legacy lives on in the family she cherished, the patients she helped, and the countless everyday moments she made brighter through steadfast love.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
