

Anna Dean Miller of Deer Park, TX died on January 1, 2017. She was born in 1923, in Spencer, WV, the daughter of Rector Ray Douglas and Ruby Moore Douglas. She graduated from North East High School in North East, PA in 1942.
In 1944 she was married to Elwood P. Miller in North East. They had three children.
Mrs. Miller spent many years working at Welch’s in North East until the family moved to Houston, TX in 1960. In Houston, she worked for many years as the secretary for the American Brahman Breeders Association. She also spent many years as a school secretary in Pasadena Independent School District and after her husband’s retirement as a school secretary in the Huntsville Independent School District. She was very active in church activities at Webster Presbyterian Church and Huntsville Presbyterian Church. She loved gardening, cooking, and baking.
She was preceded in death by Elwood, her beloved husband of 62 years. She leaves son Doug and wife Dianne Miller of Austin, TX; son Kyle and wife Cindy Miller of Spring, TX; daughter Kim and her husband Andy Mattingly of LaPorte, TX. She also leaves six grandchildren: Megan Mattingly Smith; Stefanie Mattingly Nowlin; Drew Mattingly; Jeffrey Miller; Jason Miller; and LeAnna Miller along with seven great-grandchildren who gave her great pleasure in her later years. She is also survived by brother Ray Douglas and his wife Anita; sister Hester and her husband Francis Sitterle of Granite Shoals, TX; and sister Clara Slovak of Marion, TX. She was predeceased by sister, Ruth Lynn.
Visitation and service are January 9th at 9:00 AM, service at 10:00 AM. All arrangements are being handled by Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX.
