Ms. Elrod (Barbara) our neighbor was my moms best friend till my mom Betty Blake passed in 1995. I will never forget all the times we all spent with Susan and Mike in our front yard hanging out. Ms. Elrod was like a 2nd Mom to me. She was always there for my sister and I when we needed her. She will be missed. Susan's birthday parties we so awesome in the living room and Ms. Elrod always made them so much fun. WE love you for all you did with and for our MOM. Ms. Elrod you were an awesome mom and grandma and I know you are missed, but are rejoicing now that you are with Bob and my mom reminiscing .

Jay and I are thinking about all of you - Susan, Don, Mike and Judy. We send our love, hugs and prayers. I have a lot of wonderful memories of your mom, starting with the first time I met her back in our crazy college days! Of course, later, we enjoyed many gatherings together in Austin, where we shared good wine, food and fellowship. May she be at total peace and happy to be reunited with your sweet Dad. We love you! My memories of Barbara go way back to junior high in the late 60’s. As part of Susan’s group of friends, we we’re always welcomed in their home and we spent lots of time there. Most of all I remember her smile and laugh. It was so nice to hear her voice again a couple weeks ago. Susan and Mike, my heart is with yours. Cherish your lifetime of memories.

Mrs. Elrod as Barbara was known to me, was a 2nd mother to me. I have many fond memories of the time I spent at their house growing up. The many dinners they shared with me, the motherly love and advice and the strength she always showed to us. My favorite memory was the time she piled a bunch of us girls in to her little mustang and took us to wrap a boys house. She knew we would go anyway so she convinced Bob it would be safer if she took us. My deepest sympathies to Susie and Mikey, with love from Radio.
