Berenice U. Gonzalez

Berenice Urbina de Gonzalez, age 83, of Houston, Texas was called home by the Lord on Saturday, November 21, 2015. She was born on September 13, 1932 in Tampico, Mexico. She was the daughter of the Rev. Manual Urbina and Irene Salce de Urbina. Berenice was married to Gregorio P. Gonzalez on December 19, 1953. She is survived by her children Rose Marie Campos, Gabriel (Sara) Gonzalez, Andrea Luna, John Bernard (Diana) Gonzalez, Anna Xochitl (Shelby) Oostwouder, Xavier (Tonya) Gonzalez, Lydia (Tom) Black and Gregorio E. Gonzalez; her siblings Dr. Marcos Urbina, Dorcas Irene De Soto, Eunice Horning, Febe Gloria Urbina, Loida Boatman and Dr. Manual Urbina II; twenty-one grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and other family members. She was a founding member of San Felipe de Jesus Catholic Church; she served as President of the San Felipe Senior Citizens group for more than 10 years and worked many ministries throughout the years for the church community. She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Gregorio Posadas Gonzalez. The family will receive visitors from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Forest Park East Funeral Home with a Rosary to begin at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at San Felipe de Jesus Catholic Church; viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial Services will immediately follow the funeral mass at Forest Park East Cemetery.
