Bernice Elizabeth Skains

Bernice Phillips Skains, age 90, of Houston TX died on October 26, 2025. She was born in Woodville, TX on August 4, 1935. She was a member of Clear Lake United Methodist Church. She graduated from Sam Houston State University. She was preceded in death by her parents, Texas Ranger and Mrs. Harvey Phillips, her husband Marion R. Skains, her sister, Linda Sheryl Phillips, and her brother Bobby Phillips. She is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca Skains Jamison and husband, Jimmy Jamison, Lisa Skains Ashford, and husband Tom Ashford, three grandsons, Mark Allan Jamison, Blake Phillip Ashford and wife Chandler Ashford, Grant David Ashford, and her brother Allan Phillips. The family will have a private graveside service at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 21060 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas.
