Betty Christine Forrest

Betty Christine Forrest (Bulger) passed away in hospice care on October 12, 2025 at 86 years of age. She was born on December 27, 1938 in San Angelo, Texas to her parents, Jeff Alfred Bulger and Minnie Lea Bulger. She was the youngest and only daughter of 4 children. Her father worked for the US Postal Service and served in the Navy, while her mother dedicated her life to being homemaker. Betty was a proud graduate of San Angelo High School, completing her studies in May of 1957.

Her strong Christian faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She was raised in the Baptist church, where her father served as a Deacon, and remained steadfast in her devotion to God.

She met her life long partner of 67 years, David Forrest when they were just teenagers working at a local shoe store together. They later married on December 12, 1958 and over the course of the next 17 years they welcomed four children together, three sons and one daughter.

Throughout her professional life, Betty worked alongside her husband and sons in the family optician business in Pasadena, Texas. She served as both an optician and administrator, contributing significantly to the business until her retirement in 2009 at the age of 70.

Her greatest joy was spending time at home with her family, they were always her first priority. She enjoyed cooking large Sunday meals through the years, preparing for the holidays, playing various games with her children, completing crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, reading romance novels, and always looking forward to the next family reunion.

She will be remembered as a loving, compassionate, resilient, kindhearted, faithful woman - devoted to her family, grounded in her faith, and generous in spirit. Her presence will be deeply missed but her legacy of love and devotion lives on in all who knew her. We take comfort in knowing she is in heaven, reunited with loved ones who preceded her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jeff Alfred Bulger and Minnie Lea Bulger (Ainsworth), brothers Jimmy Alfred Bulger, Kenneth Eugene Bulger, and Harold Leroy Bulger, and beloved son Bruce Kevin Forrest.

She is a survived by her husband David Jerome Forrest, sons James David Forrest and Dennis Jay Forrest, daughter Jana Michelle Forrest, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 27th at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery at 9:00am. The service will follow at 10:00am.
