Betty Lois Grochoske, a beloved resident of League City, Texas, passed away on August 1, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on May 22, 1938, Betty was known for her generous and kind-hearted nature. She was a woman who never spoke a bad word about anyone and was loving and caring, but sometimes stubborn.
Betty had a passion for dancing, reading, and solving crosswords, activities that she enjoyed throughout her life. Her compassion touched everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband of over 40 years, Freddy, her grandson Andrew Stephens, and her son-in-law Ron Stephens.
Betty is survived by her children, Laura Stephens, Richard Hammons, and Sheila Ottinger and her husband Dennis. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Stacie, Justin, Thomas, and Kathryn, and her great-grandchildren, Skylar, Phoenyx, Chloe, Courtney, and Evan, as well as her great-great-granddaughter Harper.
She is also survived by her brother, James DeShazo and his wife Vela, and her sister, Nellie Frnka, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Betty's life was a testament to the power of love and kindness, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, located at 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX, 77598, on August 7, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. with a rosary at 9:30 am.
The funeral service will be conducted at Forest Park East Funeral Home on August 7, 2025, starting at 10:00 am, committal service and reception to follow.
