She had a career in the medical field for Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital. Betty enjoyed reading and keeping up with her soap stories. She collected candles to brighten up her rooms.
As all of you are aware, a little over six months ago Betty lost her beloved daughter Marilyn to cancer. The two of them have always been best friends and had many future plans together that never came to fruition. As Marilyn was also cremated, Betty’s surviving children, along with Marilyn’s children, have decided that it only seems fitting to scatter their ashes together when the timing is perfect. They all feel this is something both would have approved of and loved.
She was preceded in death by parents, Leonard and Elvie Johnson; daughter, Marilyn Kaye Lewis.
She is survived by son, Terry Hagans and wife Tami; daughter, Sandy Cowden and husband Chris; grandchildren, Brad and wife Stacy, Chase, Tricia, Stephanie and husband Marcus, Matthew and wife Teela, Chad and wife Kalee, Cody, Amanda, Stewart, Katelyn, Steven and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Ty, Jaeson, Alyssa, Lane, Cadence, Cailyn, Siarah, Khorey, Gabbi, Kolten, Marley, Ethan, Heidi, Danika, Bryce and Matthew II.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 10:00 am at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
