Betty J. Kennedy of Houston, Texas, passed away on February 24, 2016. She was born in Athens, Tennessee on June 08, 1932 to Charlie and Eliza Ward Rogers. She was married to George Kennedy for 61 years. Betty had a passion for cooking and crocheting in her free time.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; son, John Robert; five brothers Arvil, Alvie, Grover, Bennett and John Rogers; two sisters Vancie Rogers Ladd and Agnes Rogers Edgeman.
Betty is survived by her son, Lewis “Lamar” Kennedy and wife Annette; grandchildren Andrew Kennedy and wife Ade, Lindsey Attaya and husband Eric; great-grandchild Landon Attaya; and two brothers George and Earl Rogers.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home. The Celebration of Betty’s Life will begin at 3:00 p.m. with interment to immediately follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
