

Bich Tran, a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at the age of 96. She was born on November 11, 1928, in Phat-Diem Kim Son of Ninh Binh, Vietnam, to Mr. Nghi Le Tran and Mrs. Thoa Thi Nguyen.
Bich was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thien Tran, and three of their children: Theresa Ngoc Bao Thi Tran, Cecilia Ha-Tram Thi Tran, and Catherine Thu Thuy Thi Tran. Her strength and perseverance during the Vietnam War and its aftermath became the foundation of her legacy. She was a beacon of resilience and grace, helping her husband bring their six children to safety and a new life in the United States following the fall of Vietnam.
She is survived by her loving children: Joseph Thuan Tran, Louis Thang Tran, Mary Trinh Tran Barger, Lawrence Thi Tran, and Theresa Thu Trinh.
Bich also leaves behind 18 adoring grandchildren: Khoa (Arthur) Vu, Michael Vu, Christina Montez, Michelle Kanapi, Teresa Macleod, Joseph (Joey) Tran, Annemarie Tran, Felicia Tran, Stephen Tran, John Paul Tran, Peter Tran, Elizabeth Shomette, Anthony Vu, Stephanie Adams, Madeline Tran, Christina Hernandez, Nicole Sumner, and Thomas Trinh.
Along with 19 wonderful great grandchildren: Connor Vu, Christian Montez, Josiah Montez, Noah Montez, Quinn Kanapi, Isabella Macleod, Audrey Macleod, Ethan Tran, Aiden Tran, Maddie Tran, Lucy Shomette, Katy Shomette, Sophie Shomette, Nathaniel (Nate) Adams, Alyssa Adams, Avery Adams, Roland Hernandez, Celine Hernandez, and Eleanor (Ellie) Sumner.
Bich served as Assistant Director at the office of the Vietnamese-American Association, where she worked under the American Embassy during the Vietnam War. However, her greatest devotion was always to her family and her Catholic faith. A lifelong and active member of the Catholic Church, she lived with humility, compassion, and unwavering faith.
Those who knew Bich remember her as a strong, nurturing woman who carried the burdens of war, displacement, and loss with unshakeable dignity. Her love of family, her enduring spirit, and her deep faith continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
