Billy Joe Irving

Billy Joe Irving, 75, of South Houston, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 after several months of battling illness. Billy was born in Laurel, Mississippi on October 3, 1938. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Anna Gwen Irving, parents Willie and Julia Irving, brothers Tom and Jerry Irving, and sister Carolyn “Susie” Wright. Billy is survived by daughters Kathy Irving-Doehring and husband, George “Hubbie”, and Patricia Irving, granddaughter Victoria “Toot” Doehring, sisters Maxine Traylor and husband, Ray, Shelia “Mickie” White, and Linda Smallwood and husband, Walter, several nieces and nephews, and many loved friends and family.

Billy loved life and nature, and he believed in working hard. From selling watermelons at a young age to being a part of the Forest Park Funeral service sales family for more than 20 years to being a lawn service owner, he loved working with people and loved to make people laugh.

A funeral service to celebrate Billy’s life will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 12:30pm.

A viewing will be held prior at Forest Park East Funeral Home on Sunday, March 16, 2014 from 2:00-4:00pm for those unable to attend the service.
