Billy Charles Wynn Sr. 88, died, Sunday, April 28,2024 surrounded by his loved ones and those not there, were with him in spirit. He was born November 16, 1935 in New Gulf Texas. Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 47 and half years, Anna Jendrush Wynn. He is also survived by his children, Dyane Wynn Magliolo (Tom), Wesley Wynn, Rick Vickers, Joy Pearson and grandchildren Steven Coleman (Rachel), Christy Hyett, Matt Cole (Serina), Shandy Wynn Lecourias as well as great-grandchildren, Ryan Coleman (Eni), Brett Coleman (Jasmine), Ashley McFarland, Ethan Coleman, Joseph Coleman, Amelia Coleman, Ava Coleman, Addyson Morgan, Cassandra Rayl, Cierra Krause, Sebastian Porraz, Cadence Lecourias, Charliegh Lecourias, Blake Cole (Krystian), Loagan Cole and great-great-grandchildren Aris, Bethany and Kiera Wooten.He was preceded in death by his parents, William Wynn, Joyce Cox Wynn, his brother James Wynn, and sons Danny and Billy Jr. Wynn.
Billy’s family moved to the Heights where he attended Hamilton Jr. High and Reagan High School, graduating in 1953. He was awarded a football scholarship to University of Houston. He enjoyed every minute of his time there, and was a lifelong Cougar rooting them on in every sport for the remainder of his life.
His profession out of college was as a petrochemical design piping supervisor where he started for SIP/Monsanto where he spent 20 years before starting his own company, in the petrochemical industry on July 7, 1979, Wynn Consultants. He was an active member in his church and attended regularly while he was able. He loved sports of any kind and encouraged his children to play whatever sport they wanted. He started the Little League Football Friendswood Colts and served as the Head Coach of the League for nine years. He also coached little league baseball in Friendswood.
He was a true sportsman, enjoying bowling, golf, football, baseball, basketball. At 77 he shot 2 below par which was his all-time low score. He had 3 holes-in-one in his golfing time and played weekly for 25 plus years with his always on Friday’s group. He loved fishing, hunting, water skiing and spending time with his family and friends. He had many lifelong friends stemming from his time at Hamilton Jr. and Regan High School, University of Houston, his professional career, youth sports and his church.
Visitation and Rosary will be at Forest Park East 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster Texas, 77598 on Sunday, May 5, 2024, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 110 E. South Street Alvin Texas 77511 on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Interment ETA 1:00 p.m. at Forest Park East. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his name to Mary’s Blessings Care home, 5736 Woodland Lake Loop, Willis, Texas 77378 or St. John The Baptist Catholic Church 110 E. South Street Alvin, Texas 77511.
