Bobby Joe Allison Sr.

Bobby Joe Allison Sr, resident of Sagemont since 1968, passed away at home surrounded by his family and loved ones on August 16, 2017. He was born on September 28, 1929 in Port Arthur, TX to John Wesley Allison and Ollie Jewel Starrett.

He served in the US Army, 508th airborne in Fort Benning, GA, graduated from University of Houston in 1959, and worked for International Harvester for 44 years. The world was a better place when he was in it.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Jackie Allison (Grandy), their children, Bobby Allison Jr and wife Laura, Mary Allison Henson and husband Paul, Wesley Allison and wife Rose. His grandchildren, Chad Ehlinger and wife Brooke, Kelly Allison, Shelly Allison and Joe Quintanilla, Courtney Allison and Robyn Sarvis, Ashley Allison Dichiara and husband Ben, Justin Henson, John Allison and wife Brianna, Chaney and Mackenzie Allison. Great-grandchildren Jacob, Makayla, Tyler, Kloe, Tavin, Mya, Drake, Kane, Elise, Andrew, Hailey, Skylar, Allison, Baby Andrew, Robbie, and Caden.

He was a husband, a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, US veteran, but he was known to many as simply, “Papa”.

Family will receive friends at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Forest Park East with a Celebration of Life to follow at 3:00 pm.
