Bobby Nell Griffin

She was born in Midland, Texas on June 5,1938 to R.T. Whitmire and Flora Myrle Snyder Whitmire. She was married to Kenneth Ray Griffin for 59 years. Bobby was a co-founder of the South Belt-Ellington Leader where she worked until she retired and sold her interests to her partner, Marie Flickinger and her son David, but she continued to work proofreading into her eighties. She was also a former member of the South Belt Chamber of Commerce and one of the first women members of the South Belt Rotary Club. She had a passion for spending time with her family, including watching sporting and school events of her children and grandchildren. She also had a passion for helping others in her community.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her parents, R.T. and Myrle Whitmire, her sister Saundra Lee, and her best friend Marie Flickinger.

She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, David and Angela Griffin; her daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Jim Giles; her sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Joe Wilson; her brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Margaret Whitmire; her grandchildren, Robert Griffin, Kenneth Griffin and wife Lacie; Aaron Giles and wife Ashley; Cody Giles; and Kristen Giles; great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Jace and Braelyn Giles and Ellie Griffin; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
