

Brenda Carol Bickmeier, 79 of League City, TX passed away on July 9, 2024. She was born on May 10, 1945, in Arkansas City, KS to Gale and Hazel Quick. Brenda graduated from Chamberlin High School in Tampa, FL.
Brenda was married to Stephen L. Bickmeier on September 15, 1965, in Tampa, FL. They spent most of the marriage living in Evansville, IN. Together they raised two children, Eric Bickmeier and Stephanie (Bickmeier) Knea. They have two grandchildren, Zachary and Zoe Knea.
Brenda served for many years as the head cook at Evansville Lutheran School. During her time at ELS, she loved cooking for all the children that came through her line. To this day some of the children that she served will reach out to say how much they loved seeing her every day. Brenda loved to bowl and play softball in the church leagues at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Evansville, IN. In retirement she also enjoyed being a part of the quilters group at St Paul’s.
Brenda was involved in any activity her children were involved in such as coaching soccer, softball, and leading the 4-H group.
Brenda did not grow up knowing Jesus. She had people in her life introduce her to Him. Upon marrying Stephen, she became a member of the Lutheran church. Brenda had a deep faith and a strong prayer life, constantly praying for people in her life. Even in her later years Brenda continued to serve others by making her famous chicken and dumplings for people who were sick. She enjoyed being involved with her daughter, together serving in the ministries of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
Brenda was preceded in death by her son Eric Bickmeier.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen L. Bickmeier, her daughter Stephanie and husband Kevin Knea of League City, TX and her daughter-in-law, Jaime Bickmeier of Seattle, WA; grandchildren Zachary and Zoe Knea.
A visitation for Brenda will be held Monday, July 15, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, located at 18220 Upper Bay Rd in Nassau Bay followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Park East Cemetery, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster.
