

He was born January 28, 1949, in Baytown, Texas. Bruce lived a life marked by quiet strength, kindness, and unwavering faithfulness. Though easy going his love for his family was deep and he especially adored his grandchildren.
Bruce faithfully served his country, receiving an honorable discharge from the Texas Army National Guard in 1974 and from the Marine Reserves in 1976. He went on to dedicate 38 years of service to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he worked as Unit Leader in the Evaluation Section of the Regulatory Branch until his retirement in 2010.
An Eagle Scout and certified scuba diver, Bruce found great joy in the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing with family and friends, and he treasured time spent traveling the world with his beloved wife. He also enjoyed cooking, attending the theater, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Bruce was raised in the Methodist church and, alongside his wife, faithfully attended First Baptist Church throughout their 41 years of marriage. His life reflected a steady devotion to God, his family, and those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Debbie Bennett; his son, Christopher Bennett and wife Jennifer, and their son Logan Bennett; his daughter, Neely Brunner and husband Karl Brunner, and their daughter Emmalee Brunner; his brother, Daniel Bennett; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. Bruce will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his faithful heart, and the quiet, enduring love he gave so freely. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in the family he cherished so dearly.
