Bruce Kevin Forrest

Bruce Kevin Forrest passed away in his home in La Porte, TX on June 16, 2025. He was born and raised in Pasadena, TX. He graduated with honors from Sam Rayburn High School and later attended San Angelo State University on an academic scholarship. He spent his career as an Optician in the family business.

He was a Freemason which was a big part of his life for many years. He was a member of Eastwood Masonic Lodge #1383 and served as Worshipful Master from 1997 - 1998. He was a ritualist in Masonic work.

Bruce was formerly married for over 16 years to Judie Phillips from Chicago, Illinois.

He loved attending family gatherings and reunions, playing dominoes (a family favorite), chess, trivia, cards, horseshoes, as well as board games. He was extremely smart, witty, and quick with funny one liners.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Herman Elbert Forrest and Ada Pauline Forrest and maternal grandparents, Jeff A Bulger and Minnie Lea Bulger, and many loving uncles and aunts.

He is a survived by his father, David Forrest, mother Betty Forrest, brother James Forrest, brother Dennis Forrest, sister Jana Forrest, and his many loving cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30th from 9am until 10am at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy Webster, TX 77598. The funeral service will begin at 10:00am. The committal service will immediately follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Fwy Webster, TX 77598.

Bruce loved his rescue dogs very much. In his honor, we encourage donations to a local animal shelter of your choice.
