Carl Francis Davis
January 20, 1938 – April 9, 2019
Carl Francis Davis, 81, of Dickinson, TX, passed away April 9th, 2019. He was born in San Antonio, TX on January 20, 1938 to Nolra and Elizabeth Davis. He was married to his loving wife Judy for 36 years until her passing in 1996. Carl began his working life as police officer for the Austin Police Department and while a patrolman taught himself electronics via correspondence courses at night. This led to a lifelong career at Xerox as a technician and service delivery manager for all southeast Texas. After raising their 3 children Michael, Mark and Donna in Houston, Carl and Judy retired to the water in Clear Lake in 1993.
It was there that Carl bought his “dream” boat (that always broke down), and where he built their evening deck. In their retirement Carl and Judy enjoyed time gardening, their grandchildren and feeding the ducks that visited them daily. Carl quickly got bored with retirement and being the master handyman that he was, took his knowledge with him as he worked part time at various hardware stores around the Clear Lake Area. He finally retired for good in 2000. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Judy, their daughter Debra, father Nolra, mother Elizabeth, and great grandchild, baby Humphrey.
Carl is survived by his son Michael, son Mark and his wife Lisi, and daughter Donna Callan. He adored all of his grandchildren, Alex, Kaveinga and Paluvai Davis, Sarah and her husband, Morgan Humphrey, Danny, Megan and Nicole Weise, Katie and Grace Callan. And also adored the kids he loved and took in as his grandchildren, Kirk and Ava Jackson, Cedric Havea, Mary Claire Tafuna, Levi Schumkel, Sonny Makakaufaki and Yousef Nacouzi. Carl is also survived by his brother in law, Jerry Staley.
Carl can be remembered as 10-year veteran of the U. S. Navy Reserve, a talented “pool shark”, lover of any type of Mexican food, habanero peppers, dogs (his beloved Mandy and Buffy), and as a wonderfully devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Dad, may you enjoy eternity with Mom! Give her a hug from all of us.
