Carleen was born on June 30, 1948 in Texarkana, TX to her parents, Carl Edward Walker & Wilma Maud Walker. By the age of 3 Carleen moved with her parents to Houston, TX where she was raised with her younger brothers, Ricky & Gary Walker. She attended Houston schools and graduated from MacArthur Senior High School in 1967. Carleen’s career consisted of office administration work and in January 2015 she retired from Devereux School in League City, TX at the age of 66. Carleen was a woman of many interests such as gardening, crafting, sewing, cooking, traveling and poetry.
Carleen’s legacy was her family, and she was the glue that held the family together. She was always the life of the party and enjoyed it to the fullest. She could often be found piddling around the house and organizing her many projects, digging in the dirt, caring for the great grand kids and baking the best buttermilk pies you’ve ever tasted.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Wilma Walker.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Steve Simpson of League City, TX; children, Tammy Schmitz and husband Burl of Katy, TX, Shawn Green and wife Shawnee of Conroe, TX, Crystal Scott and husband Kenny of Houston, TX, Amanda Harville and husband Steve of Austin, TX; grand-children, Kayly Scott, Heather Green, Reid Schmitz, Bryce Green, Rhett Schmitz, Brett Green, Zachary Tubbs, Brayden Green and Ruthella Harville; great-grand-children, Colby Gonzalez, Marley Meadows and Parker Tubbs.
