

Carlota V. Medina, 89, of Alvin, Texas, passed away September 22, 2015. She was born in Rio Hondo, Texas on May 20, 1926 to Joaquin Vargas and Nicolasa Ramirez. She was married to Pedro Medina for 68 years. Carlota worked for Pasadena Independent School District for 21 years and retired in 1990. She was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church and had a passion for gardening, cooking dancing, music, art and crafts and decorating for the holidays. She was known for having a quick wit and being a great host for all our family gatherings. She was preceded in death by her father Joaquin Vargas, mother Nicolasa Ramirez, daughter Marizella M. Mercado, siblings, Herminia Zamora, Sofia Herrera, Anita Aguilar, Joaquin Vargas, Olivia Tijernia, great-grandchild Andres Andres M. Aranda. She is survived by her husband Pedro Medina, children, Gilbert A. Medina Sr., Dora Vega (husband Rafael), Alfred Medina 9wife Dolores), Roy Medina (wfe Delia), Pedro V. Medina (wife Stephanie), 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held Friday, September 25, 2015 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. with a rosary starting at 7:00 p.m. The Celebration of Carlota's Life will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Saint John The Baptist Catholic Church in Alvin, Texas with interment to immediately follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
