Carolyn Francis Crawford

Carolyn Crawford, formally Carolyn Holm, was born on October 27, 1939, in Houston, TX, and passed away at her home in Pasadena on August 21, 2023, at the age of 83. She was the beloved wife of James L. Crawford for almost 60 years until his passing on February 6, 2021. Carolyn was the glue that kept the family together, remaining in contact with each of them and ensuring that each birthday of her immediate family was celebrated. and her extended family were together during the Christmas holidays.

Carolyn is survived by her two sons Don and Kevin Crawford and their families; Don & his wife Debbie live in Pearland. Their daughter Mandy and her husband Mike reside in Galveston with their three girls Madison, Marie, and Mila. Kevin and his wife Teri live in League City and share time with Claire and Emma as often as possible. Claire currently resides in Dallas after obtaining her engineering degree at Texas A & M. In addition to her husband, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brothers, Ron Holm and Gary Holm, who were survived by their spouses, Patsy Holm and Marsha Holm. She is survived by one brother Rodney Holm, one sister Judy Murray, and many nieces and nephews who were very special to her.

Carolyn graduated from Bellaire High School and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from San Jacinto College where she worked in the Admissions' Office prior to retiring in 1997. Carolyn’s greatest joy after retirement was taking care of Claire while both her parents worked. The bond they created remained strong.

Carolyn's faith was an essential part of her life. She attended Lutheran churches first in Houston and after marrying James, they attended Good Shepherd Lutheran from 1971 to 2010 and later joined Zion Lutheran until her passing.

In her free time, Carolyn enjoyed reading, walking when the weather was cool, and swimming during the summer. She and James loved to go on cruises, meet people and make wonderful memories.

A memorial service will be held in Carolyn’s honor at Zion Lutheran in Pasadena, Texas on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00 am. Carolyn Crawford will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her. Her dedication to her family and loved ones will always be remembered.

A memorial service for Carolyn will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church, 5050 East Sam Houston Pkwy S, Pasadena, TX 77505.
