

Carolyn Rogers Lindsey was born in Ralston, Tennessee. She is one of three daughters of Rev. and Mrs. Alton B. Rogers. Her father, now deceased, was a devout Methodist minister. Being a preacher’s kid (PK) provided Carolyn a unique perspective of life. She often talked of the excitement of moving to new towns, and even new states, when the conference assigned them to a different church. Carolyn recounted rich experiences of being welcomed to the new parsonages and being treated “like royalty” everywhere they moved. Her favorite assignment was Warren, Virginia. The family lived here when Carolyn attended grades 5 through 7. She describes the parsonage as majestic, with spiral columns and antiques.
Carolyn Lindsey was a dedicated homemaker from 1951-1971. She moved with her family from Memphis , Tennessee to Houston, Texas in the early 1960’s when William Lindsey (now deceased) transferred to NASA from Mallory air force base. She is a charter member of Clear Lake Methodist church.
Carolyn was also a pioneer in the workforce . She entered a career with General Motors as the first female salesperson. She remain in her successful career for 20 years , (1971-1992).
Carolyn enjoyed her daughters, four grand children and church after retirement. She recently completed a spiritual study based on the book of Romans and put forth considerable time toward study of the Bible. She is Christina role model who loved as Jesus loved.
Carolyn Lindsey is survived by four daughter; Susan Lindsey, Elizabeth Powell , Viginis Easterwood, and Charlotte Erso. The four grandchildren are Sarah Shahriari, Kevin Donovan, Lindsey Easterwood and Gary Alex Easterwood.
