

November 30, 2014. She was born on November 19, 1931 in Montgomery, Alabama to James and
Mildred Lucas. Carri trusted Christ as her Savior in 1984, at the age of 52. She left a career at
Continental Oil to be a full time mother and housewife. She was an excellent cook and seamstress.
She enjoyed growing different types of plants and flowers. In the eyes of her family, she was the
epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman. She enjoyed the monthly Primetimer’s gathering at the Friendswood
Friends Church, where she and Frank attend church.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frank, children Rick Simms and wife Robin, Cyndi Tipton
and husband Terrell, Denise Carter and husband Billy, Kurt Simms and wife Mary, Chad Simms,
eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and sister, Judith Critendon.
Pallbearers are Billy Carter, Blake Carter, Terrell Tipton, Cole Tipton, Brant Elmore, and Chad Simms.
Family will receive friends at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 4, 2014, with a service celebrating
her life to follow at 10:00 A.M., both in the chapel at Forest Park East, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster,
Texas. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Friendswood
Friends Church, 502 S. Friendswood Dr., Friendswood, Texas 77546.
