He was born in Rosenberg, TX, April 26, 1947 to Celestino and Manuela (Ramirez) Rivera. He had a career as a Cement Mason for 40 years before retirement in 2009. Celestino was a member of the Cement Masons Local Union #783 for many years.
In his free time you could find Celestino cooking BBQ or enjoying a cold beverage with his family and friends; he also had a great time coaching youth baseball and football. He was fond of classic Western movies and TV shows, cheering on the Astros, Oilers and the Texans, and spoiling his two granddaughters. Celestino appreciated oldies music—especially the “golden oldies” from the 50’s and 60’s.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Maragarito “Mugs” Rivera, sisters Beatrice “Bea” Avila, Zenaida “Sandy” Andrado, Elvira “Vera” Cavazos, and Maria “Mary” Cruz.
He is survived by his sons Martin and Ronnie Rivera and two beautiful granddaughters, Layla and Brielle. Also surviving are many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held for Celestino, Saturday, June 18th, 2022 starting at Noon at Forest Park East Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 2:00PM on Saturday with burial to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Dan Garza, Robert Garza, John Varela, Mark Rivera, Mike Rivera, Robert Avila Jr, Richard Avila and Steven Salas.
