It is with profound sorrow that the family of the Reverend Charles R. Tanner announces his peaceful passing on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the age of 94. A cherished Methodist minister, he embodied kindness and compassion, leaving a lasting impact on his parishioners and all who knew him through his gentle wisdom and devoted heart.
Charles delighted in oil painting, meticulously restoring antique clocks, and mastering the harp in his 50s to perform at weddings and with ensembles. He passionately embraced opera, symphony, ballet, theatre, and enriching travels throughout retirement.
He is survived by daughters Jean Anne Cozma and Karen Alexander, grandson Michael and granddaughter-in-law Sara Cozma, and three beloved great-grandchildren—Oliver, Owen, and Oakley—who illuminated his world.
A Graveside Service will be held on June 10, 2026, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm, at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, US.
