

Ellie Charline Knox, age 101, of Houston, Texas, passed away on February 14, 2026. She was born in Jacksonville, Texas on July 11, 1924. Her parents were Annie Lee and Charlie Batten. She was married to Sebe Curtis Knox for 53 years until his passing in 2000.
A stay-at-home mom until her children reached adulthood, she began a career as a manager of a telemarketing office until her retirement. She was a founder and member of the South Belt Red Hat Ladies chapter and an active member of women's groups at Cokesbury United Methodist church where she and Sebe were long- time members. She also served as an officer for AARP South Belt Local chapter. She enjoyed gardening and being with family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Annie Lee and Charlie Batten, husband Sebe Knox, brother Gerald Batten, sisters Rosilee Perritte and Francis Williams, and granddaughter-in-law Vicki Martinka.
She is survived by her children, son Mike Knox and wife Sharon, daughter Susan Martinka and husband John. Grandchildren are Michael Knox and wife Linda, Joshua Knox and wife Laura, Travis Knox and wife Brandie, Johnny Martinka and Jeffrey Martinka. Great grandchildren are Blake Knox, Hunter Knox, Reaghan Hoffman, Mariah Glover, Seth Knox, Mathew Martinka, Liza Martinka, Anna Knox, Allison Knox, Jacob Knox and Evan Knox.
