Charlotte LaVon Westover

Charlotte LaVon Westover, our beloved matriarch, finished her work on this earth on July 30, 2026. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sibling, aunt, and friend. She was also devoted to her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, she lived a life of service. She was a wonderful teacher and counselor to many. She served in many leadership positions and served a mission with her sweetheart in the Roanoke Virginia Mission. She mostly had a gift of making everyone feel loved, welcomed, important and understood. Her influence will continue through her faith, love and values she passed on to future generations.

Charlotte was born on January 21, 1937 to Thomas Jesse Harris and Zula Clark in San Bernardino, CA. She had 6 sisters and 4 brothers.

Charlotte had a love for life. She played the piano and loved to dance. While at a church dance, she played the piano during the intermission, which caught the eye of her future eternal companion, David “Dave” Lloyd Westover. They dated for 2.5 years and were married on October 30,1954 in the St. George Utah Temple. Dave and Charlotte had 3 children, Von, Cheryl & Darold.

No matter what the circumstances were, she was always happy. She loved to smile. She also loved to crochet hotpot holders and washcloths and then hand them out at church. Her favorite pass time was solving pencil puzzles and watching Jeopardy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zula and Thomas Jesse Harris, her husband Dave, her son Von, grandson Tyler and her many siblings, Lorraine, Katherine, Delores, Virginia, Alden, Marilyn, Tom, Jane & Grant.

Charlotte is survived by her brother Clark, daughter Cheryl (Earl) and son Darold (Melinda), daughter-in-law Ruth Westover, grandchildren Lorelei, Ky, Tenille, Cristina, Valerie, David, Caressa, Lonnie, Kandice, Chase, Sophia, Ezra, Garrett, Brooklyn and 24 great-grandchildren, & 1 great-great-granddaughter.

The family expresses sincere gratitude to all those who provided tender loving care for Charlotte while she was at home, especially her granddaughters.

Celebration of Life will be held for all guests, at 2 pm at Forest Park East Funeral Home, in Webster, TX on Thursday, August 13, 2026. A dedication of the gravesite will follow at 3 pm. A gathering for mingling starts at 12:30 pm. A light lunch will be provided before services.
