Christos Nikopoulos passed away peacefully in the early hours of October 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on March 15, 1938 in Mousiotitsa, Greece to Vasilios & Aspasia. He is preceded in death by his parents and two of his seven siblings, Sotirios & Georgios.
Christos is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Efthimia (Effie); their three children, Vasilios (Sonnie and Ryan), Lambrini, and Dina; and his beloved granddaughter, Anastasia (Koukla). In addition to 5 siblings (Moscho, Aggeliki, Eleni, Nikolaos, and Panayio), he leaves behind many loved ones, including numerous nieces and nephews, both here and abroad.
Christos was a man who never shied away from family responsibilities, hard work, or doing whatever was necessary to care for the people he loved. From his early twenties, he traveled throughout Europe, including Sweden and Germany, where he spent several years working for Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgard. Whatever money he was able to spare was sent home to support his widowed mother and siblings in Greece.
In the early 1980's, Christos and Effie, along with their children, made the courageous decision to follow Nicolaos (Nick), to the United States in pursuit of the American dream. After settling in Pasadena, they started a business with Nick. What began as a gamble and a dream would grow over the next 40 years into what became L&D Upholstery, Inc.
Through determination, sacrifice, and countless hours of hard work, together they built not only a successful business, but a life and a legacy for their family. Alongside their three children, they were able to achieve the American dream and create a future built on love, perseverance, and family.
Outside of work, Christos had many passions. He was an avid reader and lover of history, horticulture, animals, and, most importantly, spending time with family and friends. He found joy in learning, in caring for the things around him, and in sharing time with the people he loved.
Christos will be remembered for his strength, generosity, determination, and unwavering devotion to his family. His journey from Greece to America was one of courage and strength. The life he built and the values he passed on will continue through his children and granddaughter for generations to come.
Though he is deeply missed, his memory will remain a blessing, and the love he gave his family will live on forever.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, US, on October 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Graveside Service at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, US, from 11:00 am to 11:45 am.
