

Cindy Sweitzer was born May 27th, 1964 to David and Betty Sweitzer in Fort Worth, Texas. She was a graduate of Clear Lake High School and Sam Houston State University where she majored in Computer Science. Cindy was employed by United Space Alliance where she worked in Project Integration from August 1986 to present. She had worked as the Shuttle Electrical Power System Analysis lead from August 1998- April 2008. She had also been an eagle and worked in mission control. She was an active member of the Clear Lake Symphony, UBC Church Orchestra, UBC Chamber Singers, Houston Collie Rescue, Christian Singles Alliance, Habitat for Humanity and Family Outreach. She had traveled in Europe, Alaska, New Zealand, and Australia. Most recently she had traveled to Thailand where she had done mission work and fell in love with the children in the orphanages. Cindy had led in the singles ministry at UBC and had been very active in her church. She helped Matt Marsh for many years with the youth choir. She was an aunt to Adam and Michael and would be described by them as more like a big sister. She was a wonderful help to Michael and helped him with many re-writes on his papers. She was an encourager to all who met her and a wonderful friend. She attended the Grantmanship Center where she learned how to write grants for foundations and nonprofit organizations. Cindy received recognition many times while working for United Space Alliance. In 2005 she was a Bronze winner for the International Team Excellence Competition, American Society for Quality, and in 2009 she received the Space Flight Awareness award.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father David L. Sweitzer, and her nephew Daniel Lawrence Witt. Surviving relatives include Betty Ann Sweitzer, mother, John Sweitzer, brother, Genelle Sweitzer, sister in law, Adam Witt nephew, Michael Sweitzer, nephew , god daughters Clara and Kellee Stanley and other Uncles, Aunts and Cousins.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the University Baptist Church, 16106 Middle Brook Drive, Houston, Texas 77059 with Rev. Rick Carpenter officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be given to the University Baptist Church Thailand Mission Fund, Habitat for Humanity, or the Clear Lake Symphony Orchestra.
