Collin was born in Pasadena, Texas in 1973 and raised in the Woodforest neighborhood on Houston’s east side. He graduated from North Shore High School in 1991 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston. He was an IT manager and loved all things technology. He was a wealth of knowledge and enjoyed learning about everything.
Collin was the smartest person in every room. He had an advanced intellect and a vast knowledge base. He was a firm proponent and advocate for the underdog. He could be stubborn and harsh, but beneath that sometimes rough exterior was a sensitive man with a heart of platinum. He was also a very charming man and those lucky enough to see this side of him never forgot him.
Collin loved to travel with his son, Ty. Ty was the highlight of his life, they loved planning vacations, and going to different places experiencing life. However, they were just as happy sitting on the couch at home discussing the most random of topics. Collin had a unique perspective of life and a distinctive sense of humor. You had to know him to “get” him.
Collin was a beloved son, brother, father, and man. He will be greatly missed by his son Ty, mother Helen, sister Shannon, former wife Stephanie, and a myriad of other friends and family who loved him and whom he loved passionately.
Collin was preceded in death by his father, Billy F. Manning who died in 2016.
Memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity in Collin’s memory.
A Celebration of Life for Collin Scott Manning will be held Friday, March 1 from 6:00-8:30PM at Forest Park East Funeral Home located at 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, Texas.
