Curtis Dale Wagner, born March 27, 1938, in Beaumont, Texas. While at his home in Seabrook, Texas, he unexpectedly, passed away October 20, 2013. He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia Howard Wagner and parents Edward Gerhardt Wagner and Selma Martha Schkade Wagner.
He is survived by Donald Wagner and wife Marlyn, Ruby Stolle and husband Les, Carolyn Steinke and husband Pete, Jeanette Frese and husband Leland. His son Mark Dale Wagner of Houston, Texas, and daughters Wendy Spitzenberger-Enberg and husband Randy of Brenham, Texas and Susan Wagner Jones and Raul Vasquez of Tomball, Texas. Mother in-law Marie Mason Howard and step son Chad Swigart and wife Tara of Webster, Texas.
Curtis was a proud grandfather to Erin and Ashley Wagner, Amy Chovanec and husband Steven, Chase Jones, Shelby and Jeremiah Swigart. He recently became a great-grandfather to Jeremy Chovanec. Curtis was loved by many nieces and nephews.
An entrepreneur and a business owner best described his profession. Curtis began his career at Blanton’s Florist in Houston, Texas. As his creativity continued to grow, many businesses were developed and sold as he approached his early “retirement” days. Curtis’ limitless energy did not allow him to sit for long. Curtis Wagner Plastics Corp. was begun and for over 40 years he has developed various products that can be found in retail stores today.
He had a zeal for life, an infectious laugh and a love of the outdoors. When not developing new products he enjoyed his daily bicycle rides and fishing with his friends. Energized by his homeopathic remedies, being challenged by the stock market, staying in touch with current politics and sharing fishing stories, his weekly lunches with family and friends always promised to be entertaining and informative.
Curtis was generous and willing to help those he found in need. As he grew closer to God, he enjoyed reading about the spiritual journeys of others and was comforted by reading God’s word. He knew this earth was not his home.
He will be dearly missed by his four legged companion Dewey, friends and family.
