Robert lived in La Marque, Texas for 62 years. He worked for the City Street and Bridge Maintenance department for the City of Texas City for 17 years.
Robert was a great man who never met a stranger. He gave from his heart and always left others on better ground. He was a selfless man who always put others first, a characteristic, he would want us all to strive for. He loved to bar-b-que, host parties with his wife Penny, and spend time with family and friends. Robert was a man of faith who enjoyed reading the word of God and studying the bible. He always fought a good fight and finished the race.
His wife, family and friends will miss him deeply. This poem reflects the love he shared with Penny. “I heard your voice in the wind today and I turned to see your face; The warmth of the wind caressed me as I stood silently in place. I felt your touch in the sun today as its warmth filled the sky; I closed my eyes for your embrace and my spirit soared high. I saw your eyes in the windowpane as I watched the falling rain; It seemed as each raindrop fell, it quietly said your name. I held you close in my heart today it made me feel complete. You may have died… but you are not gone, you will always be a part of me. As long as, the sun shines, the wind blows… the rain falls… You will live on inside of me forever for you are all my heart knows.”
