

David was born in Farmersville, Texas, on January 1, 1941, to Dave and Mattie Howell. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Cindy Howell, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.
David dedicated his career to serving others as a Peace Officer with the Houston Police Department. He took great pride in his work and in the many people he was able to serve throughout his years in law enforcement.
Outside of his career, David enjoyed the simple pleasures and adventures that made life special. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, traveling, and both water and snow skiing. He loved being outdoors, enjoying new adventures, and making memories with those he loved.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Mattie Howell, and his siblings, O.D. Howell, Finus Howell, James Howell, Ray Howell, R.C. Howell, Wilma Williams, and Eunice Kalb.
He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory, including his wife, Cindy Howell; his children, Debi Margison, Deanna Howell, Nikki Loving (Rob), and Bryan Davis (Jela); and his grandchildren, Austin Todd (Blair), Tyler Davis (Erin), Ashley Davis, Kandace Havner (David), James-Douglas Larson (Tara), and Tyler Larson (Deanna).
He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Preston Davis, Makayla Baygents, KaLeigh Havner, Toby Larson, Elijah Larson, Owen Larson, Jimmy Havner, Luke Havner, and Brecklyn Larson, as well as his great-great-grandchild, Brady Baygents.
David’s life was one of service, adventure, and love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the generations of his family who will carry his legacy forward.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, US, on September 10, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Celebration of Life at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598, US, on September 10, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
