Delia moved from the Philippines to the Bronx in 1971 and went on to serve as a registered nurse for many years in NYC. She offered care with steady compassion and a genuinely kind heart. She found joy in the everyday gifts of life—traveling, gardening, going to church, watching movies, and spending time with her husband, Ernesto. After she retired, she later made her home in Webster, Texas.
Delia was married to Ernesto Gavina for almost 50 years, until his passing in 2011.
Delia was preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto Gavina; her eldest son, Ferdinand Gavina; and all her siblings.
Delia is survived by her sons, John Gavina, Richard Gavina, and James Gavina; her daughter-in-law, Barbara Gavina; her grandchildren, Joshua, Rachel, Aaron, Caleb, Bennie, Jamie and great-grandchildren: Bennie Jr, Kaydin & Wyatt.
