Diane Marie Edwards

Diane Marie (Mazeikas) Edwards age 72 of Pearland, Texas left her earthly body to enter paradise on February 11, 2020. She was born on November 8, 1947 in Houston to her loving parents Charles William Mazeikas and Edith Lorraine (Trainor) Mazeikas. She was a brilliant student and became an elementary school teacher for a short time before deciding to go back for a 2nd degree to become a registered nurse. She loved caring for patients and her passion of nursing lasted over 25 years.

Her number one love in life was definitely her family. She retired from nursing after becoming a beloved “Mimi” to help care for her grandchildren when needed. She was the most enthusiastic fan, hugger, cheerleader, listener and truly devoted supporter to each and every one of them. Almost always at every function, event and special moment of their lives, she was definitely the loudest cheering in the crowd! That is how she lived her life to anyone she met. If you met her, you left knowing her heart was gold, her love was selfless, her kindness beyond measure and you wouldn’t get away without a hug! She left a beautiful legacy of how to love others and how to be loved, and she will be missed beyond words.

Diane is survived by her true best friend and loving husband of 49 years, John S. Edwards, daughters: Shellie Sherer and husband David, and Holli Clasen and husband Michael; grandchildren Korie and fiance’ Matt, Brice, Caleb, Griffin, Nolen and Caroline; sister Sherry Mackinnon and husband Joe; nephew Larry Stephenson; niece Keri Stephenson; niece Meghan Hall and her beloved cousin Patty Jo Vento.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Edith Mazeikas.

A visitation and viewing will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery on Monday February 17th, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m with her Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Park East Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to MD Anderson Cancer Center or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her memory would be cherished.
