Following a four year stint in the United States Marine Corps, Dorman became a Postal Carrier for the City of South Houston; a position he held for 37 years. Dorman spent the entire 37 years, with the exception of one day, serving the citizens of South Houston. Dorman enjoyed fishing and playing golf, but most of all, his main interests were taking care of his family and his Church, St. Paul’s Episcopal in Houston, Texas.
He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Dorman’s warm and inviting personality and generosity to others could not be matched. You looked forward to his smile, sense of humor and warm hugs.
Dorman was preceded in his death by his wife of 25 years, Gwendolyn Gunn, parents Rupert and Eunice Gunn, brother JR Gunn, sister-in-law Patricia Gunn and sister Joy Fox.
He is survived by Kimberly Lynn Goddard, daughter, Marc Ray and Patricia Gunn, son and daughter-in-law, Grandsons Brandon and his wife Caroline, Aaron, Cameron Goddard, and Kaiden Goddard (Great Grandson); Step Grandchildren, Cori and Montana Gangwer, John Berger (USMC), and Jillian Berger (US Army).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Dorman’s name.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 3:00pm.
