

Dorothy Ann (Allison) Howery, age 85, went home to be the with Our Lord & Savior on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Born October 8, 1929 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, she is the daughter of the late Jasper Bert Allison and Lennie Elizabeth Trussell Allison. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Fred Charles “Chuck” Howery. Dorothy graduated from the University of Houston and taught school for several years. She joined her husband for overseas assignments in Haiti and Colombia before settling in southeast Houston. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Pasadena and active in her local garden club. Finally, she was a nurturing and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, C. Kenneth Howery and Janet L. Howery, D. Randy Howery and Debbie A. Howery, and daughter Laura Lisa Howery. She is also survived by grandchildren Kenneth A. Howery of San Francisco, Christina A. Howery and husband John P. McLellan of Austin, Alicia A. Howery and Nicholas C. Howery of Houston, Katlyn A. and Jordan C. Howery of Pearland, and 4 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Forest Park East Cemetery, Webster, Texas. Entombment will be in Memorial Gardens of Hot Springs, Arkansas on August 8 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
