He was born in Arkansas in 1942 to Sammie Finley & Jane Britt. He was married to Noklek (Noi) for 57 years. Doug had a 40 year career in the Aerospace Industry with Naknan Inc., Unisys, Ford Areospace, and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He had a passion for his family, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sammie Finley, Jane Britt, and his sister Nancy Joanne Finley Tu.
He is survived by his wife: Noi Finley; his sister Mary Ellen Brown (Kelly Brown, Kilee Woods, Justin Woods Jr, Kynnedi Allen); his brothers Stephen Romulus Finley (Betsy Finley, Elizabeth Finley, Grace Norland, Spencer Norland), Dave Clayton Finley, and Glenn Edward Finley (Susan Finley); his children Timi Finley John (Martell John) and Stephen Douglas Finley (Shelley Finley); his grandchildren Charles Douglas McDade (Allison McDade), Dynay John (Kirby Lindscomb), Marty John (Jessica Aguilar), Ty John, and Tre' John and his great-grandchildren Aaliyah McDade, Charlie McDade, Nyla Lindscomb, Nyko Lindscomb, and the soon to be Camila Arely John.
A visitation for Doug will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and his funeral service will start at 10:30 a.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas. A committal service will follow at 1:15 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery, located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr in Houston, Texas.
