

Doug grew up in Dallas, Texas and was the oldest of three siblings. He attended Justin F Kimball High School and shortly after graduating he moved to Houston where he started his family and career. Doug was married to Blanche Amparan for 20 years and together they raised two daughters.
He then launched his 40-year career as a Merchandise and Sales Manager for furniture companies.
He was known best for his skill and hard work.
In his free time, Doug enjoyed fishing and spending time at the beach. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching his favorite teams play. Loving football and baseball the most, he always supported his home team no matter what. He found solace and joy in these hobbies throughout his life.
Douglas is survived by his daughters, Saundra Stitt (Ron) of League City, Tx, and Nikki House (Gary) of League City, Tx. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrew Cozby (Chloe) of Houston, Tx, Robert Stitt of League City, Tx, and Sara Stitt of League City, Tx, as well as his great-grandchild, Harvey Ledbetter of Houston, Tx. Doug is also survived by his siblings, David Cozby (Tracy) of Yakima, Wa, and Diana Simon (Ken) of Cody, Wy , along with his nephews, Chris Hester and Andrew Hester, and his nieces, Shawndel Blakemore and Jordin Cozby. As well as having multiple Great nieces and nephews.
He took great pride in his family and dedicated the last 20 years to spending as much time as he could with them.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dempsey Floyd Cozby, and his mother, Patricia Cozby.
A private family memorial service at sea will be planned in the near future, as per Doug's wishes.
