

James Thurman Minor and Addie Almeeda Minor and was raised in Atkins/Bells Chapel, Arkansas. He married Patsy Evelyn Ashmore in 1952 and was married for 30 years until her death.
Earl served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. He served on the U.S.S. Curtiss and U.S.S. McGinty during the Korean War. He took his first airplane flight in a World War I bomber airplane around the age of six, which was the beginning of his passion for flying. He delighted in the freedom that flying offered as he flew many different types of airplanes. He also had a creative side where he liked working with his hands making all kinds of things such as intricate woodcarvings, bamboo picture frames, and pinecone wreaths. He had a fascinating career as an Electrical Engineer which he truly enjoyed and traveled the world working on many different types of energy/oil and gas projects in Alaska, Gulf of Mexico, Egypt, Gulf of Suez, Indonesia, Trinidad & Tobago to name a few. Later in life, he became a member of the “Breakfast Club” where he engaged in countless hours of good conversation and formed wonderful friendships.
His true love was for his family, he gave selflessly and always offered his help. He was a very wonderful, dedicated father to his two children and his grandchildren.
He was a member of the Atkins Masonic Lodge No. 172 for over 67 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his adored wife Patsy and her parents, his sister Pauline Forrester and her husband Roy, brother-in-law Lori Poynor, brother-in-law Harry Ashmore, sister-in-law Sue Durham and her husband, Courtney, and their two sons Andy and Tim.
Surviving Earl are his son Todd Minor and his daughter Trisha Minor (Philip Smith), grandchildren Stacy Minor, Cody Minor, and James Minor (Kayla Duggan) and great-grandchild Ava Lynn Minor, all from Texas. His surviving Arkansas clan includes his sister Bettye Poynor, her children Robert Poynor and Lori Jane Wilkerson, sister-in-law Linda Ashmore, and nephews Mike Forrester and Randy Forrester.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 3 from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM in the stateroom of Forest Park East Funeral Home located at 21620 Gulf Freeway Webster, Texas. A graveside service will begin at 12:30 PM at Forest Park East Cemetery.
