Edie moved to Buffalo NY in 1947, where she completed high school before graduating from the Hamot Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. In 1952, she married James Delwood. Together they raised two sons and two daughters and their family life took them to many parts of the country through various job opportunities.
While living in Boston, she trained as an electrologist and went to start her own business after working as a nurse in Labor and Delivery at Southeastern Memorial Hospital. She was an accomplished quilter, an enthusiastic pianist and a devoted opera lover, whether attending opera downtown or enjoying the music at home. Above all, she cherished her family and took great pride in their many adventures and accomplishments.
Edie is survived by her beloved husband, Jim; her children: Diane (Craig) Swanson, Don (Sally) Delwood, Linda Delwood (Ed Prejean), Bob (Marianne) Delwood, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and her younger sister, Jean Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and her older sister.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship.
