She grew up in Woodland Maine and after high school graduation she move to Boston to study at New England Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing - graduating in 1946 with Bachelors of Science in Nursing. All through her life she sang in the church choir. As a young adult with her mother and sister Irene, later in every church she was a member. Singing and music was her life. She was married to Johnny Pachlhofer from 1950 to 1972 and they had 2 children, James and Deborah. She worked as a registered nurse at several local hospitals in Pasadena until she landed her dream job at Shell Oil Refinery in Deer Park. Shell was the place for her and she loved it. She retired from Shell in 1990. After her divorce she discovered ballroom dancing, taking weekly lessons, attending dances not only in the Houston area but throughout the United Stated. She even went to Dance competitions. After retirement she enjoyed traveling with her sister and also the church Senior Citizen group. She traveled the world. As she started loosing here memory she thought she was still on a trip. Many times she said-"this is a nice hotel". It didn't matter if she was at her home or the Assisted Living Home- she was always on a trip. Elizabeth was a Breast Cancer Survivor overcoming a double mastectomy in 1969. She was a Life Member of the Order of Eastern Star in Pasadena-maintaining that membership from 1953 until she died. She lived a full life and was the best mother anyone could ever have.
