

黃建華女士,生於一九四三年九月九日,自幼在台灣成長。她畢業於台灣靜宜大學,隨後赴美深造,取得圖書館學碩士學位。畢業後任職於美國德州大學醫學院加爾維斯頓分校(UTMB)醫學圖書館,憑著勤奮認真、細心負責的工作態度,歷任圖書館館員,後來晉升為採購及編目部(Acquisition and Catalog Division)主管。她在圖書館服務多年,專業卓越,待人誠懇,深受同事敬重與信賴。
然而,在建華心中,事業固然重要,家庭始終放在第一位。她一生以家庭為重,相夫教子,默默付出,以無私的愛建立了一個溫馨、和諧、充滿歡笑的家庭。她知足感恩,珍惜親情,與親友相處真誠和睦,待人寬厚,樂於助人,因此深受家人、親友及鄰里的敬愛。
九年前,建華被診斷患上肺癌。面對漫長而艱辛的治療歷程,她始終堅強勇敢,從不輕言放棄。多年來,她歷經無數次檢查、治療和身體上的痛苦,卻甚少向人訴苦,總是以平靜的心、堅定的信念和溫柔的笑容面對人生。即使身體日漸衰弱,她仍然時刻關心家人,惦念親友,用愛與關懷溫暖身邊每一個人。
在漫長的患病歲月中,丈夫始終陪伴左右,悉心照顧,彼此扶持,不離不棄,攜手走過人生最艱難的時光。夫妻同心,共度五十餘載春秋,深厚的情誼成為彼此最大的力量,也見證了一段患難與共的美好婚姻。
建華的一生,以真誠、善良、忍耐和愛,默默影響著身邊每一個人。她以自己的生命,向家人展現了勇氣、信心、堅毅與無私奉獻的精神,也為所有認識她的人留下了深刻而美好的典範。
建華女士享年八十二歲。如今她安然息勞,魂歸天家。雖然她已離開我們,但她留下的愛、溫暖、善良與堅毅,將永遠珍藏在家人和親友的心中。

The Life of Mrs. Ellen Chien-Hua Huang
Mrs. Ellen Chien-Hua Huang was born on September 9, 1943, and grew up in Taiwan. She graduated from Providence University in Taiwan and later came to the United States to pursue graduate studies, earning a Master’s degree in Library Science. Upon completing her education, she joined the Medical Library at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston. Through her diligence, professionalism, and meticulous attention to detail, she advanced from librarian to Head of the Acquisition and Catalog Division. Throughout her years of service, she earned the respect and trust of her colleagues for her dedication, integrity, and kindness.
Although she enjoyed a successful professional career, Ellen always believed that family came first. She devoted her life to her husband and children, giving of herself quietly and selflessly. Through her love, patience, and unwavering commitment, she created a warm, harmonious, and joyful home. She lived with a grateful heart, treasured her family, treated relatives and friends with sincerity and compassion, and was always generous, thoughtful, and willing to help others. She was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her.
Nine years ago, Ellen was diagnosed with lung cancer. Throughout her long and difficult journey of treatment, she faced every challenge with remarkable courage, faith, and perseverance. Despite countless medical appointments, treatments, and physical suffering, she rarely complained. Instead, she met each day with quiet strength, steadfast hope, and her gentle smile. Even as her health gradually declined, her greatest concern remained her family and friends, whom she continued to love and encourage with kindness and compassion.
During these years of illness, her husband remained faithfully by her side, caring for her with unwavering love and devotion. Together they supported one another through life’s most difficult season. Their marriage, spanning more than fifty years, was a beautiful testimony of enduring love, mutual sacrifice, and steadfast companionship.
Throughout her life, Ellen touched countless lives through her sincerity, kindness, patience, and love. Her life reflected courage in adversity, faith in difficult times, unwavering, perseverance, and selfless devotion to those she loved. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mrs. Ellen Chien-Hua Huang passed away peacefully at the age of 82. Though she is no longer with us, the love, warmth, kindness, and strength she gave so freely will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who knew her.
