Elray had a career in the U.S. Army, Dow Chemical, and Environmental Monitoring Service. He had a passion for sports, classic cars, the blues, TV shows, online shopping, and electronics.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn; his youngest son, Elray Jr.; his parents, several siblings, and a host of extended family members and longtime friends.
He is survived by his son, Samuel Wooten; his daughter, Renee Green; his granddaughters, Ariel Bishop and Nadia Green; his great grandsons, Aidan Green and Levi Bush; his siblings, Eunice Jackson, Earle Green and wife Veronica, David Green and wife Jackie, Barbara Lyons and husband David, Bennie Green, William Green, Margie Green, a host of in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Elray will be held Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598.
