Emily Jane Martin Clary passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 15, 2026. She was born on February 28, 1941, to Clifford and Beatrice (née Bernhardt) Martin in Duluth, MN. Emily moved to California as a young woman and later to Texas, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Houston. She returned to Minnesota before making a permanent home in Houston, where she worked as a bookkeeper for decades.
Emily was the kindest woman you've ever met, with a wonderful, easy laugh and a twinkle in her eyes. A devoted mother, she nurtured unique relationships with each of her sons. She enjoyed doting on her grandchildren and was extremely generous, finding immense joy in the act of giving gifts. She also loved the holidays and decorated her house extravagantly to celebrate every season. She made numerous friends through a shared love of movies and achieved a lifelong dream when she became a theater performer later in life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clary, and her son, Matthew Reeves. She is survived by her sons Antony (Kristi) Harvey, Joseph (Susan) Majsterski, and Andrew Majsterski; grandchildren Alexander, Nicole, Emily (Pedro), Ryan (Reika), Rachel, Henry, Owen, Benjamin, and Elliott; and great-grandchildren Samuel, Lilli, Charles, and Emma.
A celebration of her life is planned at her son Andy's house at 16427 Brook Forest Drive, Houston, TX, 77059 on August 8th at 2:00 p.m. All who knew and loved Emily are welcome to attend.
